     Hello fellow Americans:

Have you ever been asked “What is the Tea Party movement about?... here is an answer:

Mission Statement: “The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three Core Values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.”

MEMO: “The American left is in fallback mode. Despite their best efforts, they have been unable to convince the overwhelming majority of Americans that we are Islamo-phobic, anti-Constitutional bigots for daring to oppose the Ground Zero mosque. The reason for this failure is stunningly simple: because we're not. Americans are quite clear on the difference between Constitutional rights and the appalling lack of respect demonstrated by the project's leader, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf...” ~ Jewish World Review, by Arnold Ahlert

GENERAL INFO:

"Do you support the $850 billion stimulus package Obama passed last year?

Joe Democrat voted yes.  Harry Republican says no.

The TARP bailout?  Democrat voted in favor.  Republican is opposed.

Obamacare?  Joe Democrat supported it.  Harry Republican would have voted no.

Cap and Trade?  Democrat yes, again.  Republican, no.

So, maybe you should vote for the person that agrees with you."

NOTE: Here is a web-site group that I recently joined... those of you that are registered Republicans may want to take a look and give it some consideration.

“Move over Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria. The State Department has made it official: The United States violates human rights. In an unprecedented move, the Obama administration submitted a report to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights detailing the progress and problems in dealing with human rights issues in this country. The document is a strange combination of left-wing history and White House talking points. It describes how the United States discriminates against the disabled, homosexuals, women, Native Americans, blacks, Hispanics and those who don't speak English...”

Liberals love to call the U.S. Constitution a “living document” — in other words, one that changes through time in order to keep up with the times. Unfortunately, what liberals mean by “change” is that an activist judge can force the rest of us to do whatever he or she wants by dint of judicial fiat.

Taxpayers discuss current events and conservative issues

CLEARFIELD – Over 65 people attended the Clearfield–Curwensville Tea Party meeting held Thursday, April 8th at the Clearfield BPO Elks Lodge No. 540.

John Wright of Curwensville acted as discussion leader and emphasized that the Clearfield-Curwensville Tea Party is a non-partisan group of local citizens who are concerned about the fiscal irresponsibility, wasteful spending and the growing intrusion into personal freedoms by the current Administration in Washington, DC.

John Balliet of TURN presented a Constitutional overview on the history of nullification and its applications today. In a presentation entitled "Three-tiered nullification” Balliet stressed that the principle of constitutional nullification is based on the premise that a law beyond the constitution is no law at all.

Balliet emphasized that the three tiers of nullification - state, county and personal have a basis in writings from the Magna Charta to the Federalist papers. The enumerations of powers in the Constitution, the tenth amendment, the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions to recent supreme court decisions have affirmed that "the Court's jurisprudence makes clear that the Federal Government may not compel the States to enact or administer a federal regulatory program". Balliet also encouraged the crowd to contact their legislator and ask them to support HB 2053 and 2179 that nullify the current healthcare legislation passed by congress.

There was also an open discussion of portions of the new Health Care Legislation and how it could adversely affect the doctor/patient relationship. It was noted that the CBO has just announced that the projected national debt level is “unsustainable” even though they had previously stated that there would be a deficit reduction after the first ten years of implementation. It was also noted that opponents of this legislation in its current form are now being labeled as “racists” by congressional leaders and some of the news media. This discussion was followed by an informative Q & A session with a few local physicians who were in attendance.

Rem Jackson of Clearfield discussed the importance of all of us getting reacquainted with the US Constitution and the history that led up to its creation. Jackson indicated that there will be future sessions and discussions on this important topic.

Balliet and Wright also discussed the importance of concerned citizens getting involved at the county level of their own political party. They emphasized that individuals may still become a representative of their voting precinct by means of a write-in candidacy in the coming Primary Election next month.

The next Clearfield Area Tea Party meeting is scheduled for 6:30 PM Thursday, May 13th at the Elks Lodge.

Press Release to Progress and Courier Express:

The Clearfield –Curwensville Tea Party drew over 60 people Thursday March 11th when they met at the Multi-Purpose Center in Clearfield.

Many residents in attendance openly expressed  appreciation that a TEA group “finally came to Clearfield”.  John Wright emceed the meeting and again emphasized that The Clearfield-Curwensville Tea Party is a non-partisan group and is comprised of regular citizens who have come to the conclusion they can no longer be silent and sit on the sideline.

John Wright, a lifelong resident of the Curwensville area  organized the first meeting in Curwensville and the second in Clearfield  to establish a group locally on the east side of the county to compliment meetings on alternate weeks on the west side, making it more accessible to people who have limited ability to travel. Some residents also expressed their desire that TURN consider bringing candidates and events to Clearfield as well.

David Singer of Treasure Lake spoke on the groups efforts in the ninth and tenth amendment nullification efforts against unconstitutional federal actions and their trips to Harrisburg to show support for legislation currently pending in the Pennsylvania Legislature on Healthcare Reform (HB 2053 and HB 1988).

TURN’s founder John Balliet spoke on the importance of taking the anger and emotion expressed by citizens at protests and channeling it into projects at a grassroots level designed to bring about change here in Clearfield County. He reiterated that citizens need to take personal responsibility for their government as well as recapturing the sense of community if we ever expect our country to return to “we the people”

Susan Williams spoke on write-in campaigns, sharing her personal experiences and fielding several questions from the floor.

The Clearfield-Curwensville Tea Party made the decision to meet monthly on the second Thursday at 630 PM. John Wright announced that the next meeting will be held at the Elks Club in Clearfield Thursday April 8 @ 630 PM.

Taxpayers organize to protest direction of country
Thursday, February 04, 2010
By Dianne Byers Staff Writer

CURWENSVILLE - About 35 people attended a meeting last night at the Curwensville Community Center to determine interest in starting a Taxpayers United for Representation Now chapter.

The meeting was organized by John Wright of Curwensville and John Balliet of DuBois who recently filed articles of incorporation for having TURN declared a non-profit corporation in Pennsylvania.

Wright and Balliet said TURN is a continuation organization hoping to take advantage of the interest garnered by the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) events that began about a year ago and put some action behind the movement.

TEA parties were held to protest the passage of a trillion-dollar stimulus package by the federal government. Balliet said those events sent a message to legislators that most of them are no longer in touch with the needs and desires of the American citizen.

Information provided by Balliet said the TURN members want to tell Congress they are fed up with the current administration creating a nation of people who are dependent on government programs  and management when America was founded on being a nation of independent people who cherish freedom.
TURN, Balliet said, will provide focus for turning the momentum of the protests into activities and projects  that will hopefully change the direction the nation is headed.

Wright said he believes each TURN chapter would have a slightly different purpose depending on what direction members choose to direct the group's concentration. "Some will be interested in making a change locally, some the state government and others will work on a national level," he said.
Both men said they believe those interests can all exist within the same group as long as members agree  government is no longer following the Constitution of the United States and should return to the principles
of the law the country was founded on.

Both men said last night they are not interested in creating a third party but want a TURN to be a non-partisan organization made up of people who want to develop a mechanism to alter the nation's current course. Balliet told the crowd last night that TURN believes the federal government has become too big, inefficient and costly and no longer cares about what its residents want.He said now is the time to alter the pattern before it is too late.

Wright said last night that if those in the audience agreed, the new chapter could hold monthly meetings with presentations, public policy discussions and guest speakers who would discuss topics oriented to returning to a constitutional Republic, restoring the rule of law and insisting on truth and integrity in the current two-party system.

Wright said in an interview following last night's meeting that a second meeting will be scheduled in March in the Curwensville or Clearfield area with the date, time and place to be announced.
